If you used the digital payments app Cash App to transfer money with a family member, friend or business in the past six years, you may be eligible to file a claim as part of a proposed $15 million settlement in a lawsuit that claims Cash App and its parent company Block failed to take adequate precautions to prevent unauthorized access to user accounts.
In the lawsuit, the plaintiffs allege that Block and Cash App were negligent when a former Cash App Investing employee accessed account data without authorization in 2022 and when an unauthorized user accessed certain Cash App accounts in 2023 using recycled phone numbers linked to the accounts.
If you used Cash App in the last six years and your personal information or account was accessed without your consent or you experienced an unauthorized transfer of funds, you may be entitled to a claim of up to $2,500.
